About The Position

As a Product Yield Development Engineer in Intel Foundry’s Logic Technology Development organization, you will advance process technologies by identifying root-cause yield limiters and developing solutions that improve manufacturability and yield across technology nodes. The role operates in a fast-paced environment and supports successful product introductions, process improvements, and methodologies that meet manufacturing goals. You will analyze diverse fab process, defect, and electrical data; use statistics, machine learning, and coding to identify anomalies and yield opportunities; and develop algorithms, tools, and measurement recipes that support process and product quality. The role also involves collaboration with design teams and factory task forces, design-technology co-optimization, design of experiments, and development of AI/ML and computational tools that connect design and manufacturing. You will document technical procedures, train colleagues, and address equipment, software, or procedural failures in production when required. Intel Foundry Technology Development has over 15,000 employees and conducts research, develops process and packaging technologies, and manages high-volume manufacturing. This position requires an on-site presence. The listed U.S. annual salary range is $141,910–$269,100, with individual pay depending on work location and other factors.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a semiconductor science-related STEM field such as engineering, physical science, or computer science, or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in advanced semiconductor devices and process flow; alternatively, a master’s degree in such a field and at least 4 years of that experience.
  • Experience may be gained through schoolwork, classes, research, and/or relevant prior employment or internships.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience with data analysis systems and software tools.
  • At least 2 years of experience in yield projection using EOL signals and in-line parameters.
  • Project or program management experience, with strong self-initiative and self-learning capabilities.
  • A proven ability to work across organizations in matrix structures to accomplish strategic objectives amid conflicting priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse big-data sources for defect-mode understanding and yield modeling.
  • Perform statistical analysis, create visualizations, and develop process roadmaps that support technology yield milestones.
  • Extract insights from structured and unstructured data using advanced statistics, machine learning, and coding techniques.
  • Organize and interpret fab process, defect, and electrical data; identify anomalies and drive process changes to enhance yield.
  • Develop multivariate algorithms and tools to identify root-cause yield limiters and recommend process changes.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve yield issues and ensure manufacturability across process and product specifications before production ramp.
  • Execute new product introductions, enable design-technology co-optimization, and participate in design of experiments with factory task forces.
  • Develop measurement recipes for rapid product-integrity feedback and address issues that affect yield or product quality.
  • Create and harden systems for operational needs of leading-edge logic nodes, working with equipment vendors and internal collaborators.
  • Develop AI/ML applications and computational tools to connect design and manufacturing, improve design efficiency, and reduce debug time.
  • Document technical procedures, train colleagues, and debug equipment, software, and procedural failures in production environments when required.
