About The Position

Cannavibes is a locally owned and operated dispensary in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, focused on high-quality cannabis products, education, quality, and inclusivity. Founded by local women entrepreneurs and members of minority communities, the company aims to provide access to premium cannabis products and educate and empower cannabis enthusiasts. The Product Specialist helps customers select suitable cannabis products by learning about their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains and terpenes. The role involves welcoming customers, answering questions about cannabis strains, medicinal uses, and consumption methods, and educating customers on safe product use. The specialist also supports compliant dispensary operations through identification and medical ID checks, payment processing, accurate order verification, inventory management, and keeping the dispensary clean and organized. The position requires staying informed about cannabis products, industry developments, and applicable laws while providing strong customer service.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to maintain focus in an active environment.
Ability to regularly stand, sit, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
Accurate and robust data-entry and record-keeping skills for POS transactions.
Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Thorough understanding of state and local medical marijuana laws and their application to dispensary operations.
Thorough understanding of marijuana, its effects, and medical uses.
Ability to obtain and maintain a NJ CRC Card.

Experience in a sales or retail environment.

Responsibilities

Advise customers on cannabis products suited to their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains and terpenes.
Keep up with new cannabis products and industry trends through Learn Brands and personal research.
Check patients' identification documents and medical ID to verify their allotment is not over-extended.
Process patient payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
Correctly ring in and double-check items as they are placed in the bag.
Verbally verify the receipt with the patient.
Educate customers on the safe use of their selected cannabis products.
Take inventory of cannabis products and ensure the sales floor is adequately stocked.
Keep the dispensary and surrounding property clean and well-organized.
Inform the manager of customer complaints and operational issues.
Answer customer questions about cannabis strains, medicinal uses, and consumption methods.
Stay apprised of developments in cannabis laws to maintain legal compliance.
Perform additional duties as required.
