Product Owner - Precision Design System UX/UI

Broadcom•Pittsburgh, PA
•$104,100 - $166,500

About The Position

The Product Owner (PO) at Broadcom works between Product Management and the Development Team. The PO contributes to product strategy and executes it by translating strategic ideas into development items with concrete outcomes, then into manageable work such as enablers and user stories. The role navigates priorities across the mainframe software portfolio and negotiates across value streams and offering teams. Broadcom’s Precision design system is a modern user interface framework comprising design assets and a developer SDK. It provides a consistent user experience and is adopted by more than 35 mainframe products. The PO considers the different user personas and use cases, as well as the market value of capabilities, to prioritize features across the development roadmap and deliver differentiated user experiences at the right time. The PO serves as the voice of customers—including external users and internal product teams that consume Precision assets—in development and engineering processes. The role operates as part of an extended Product Management team and usually reports to Product Management. The PO works with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, executives, other Product Owners, the System Team, shared services, and development teams to maintain and prioritize backlogs, coordinate dependencies, communicate risks, and deliver customer outcomes. The Development Team includes architects, UX designers, developers, QA, Information Engineers, and R&D management. The PO maintains a sufficiently detailed and ordered team backlog for the current and next iteration. They own the Definition of Done, establish acceptance criteria, and have final authority to accept or reject completed user stories. They engage customers for feedback, arrange customer visits and user observation when possible, lead Sprint Reviews, and may manage escalated support cases through completion.
