Product Owner - Payments W2 Hybrid
About The Position
The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing product value by defining the product vision and roadmap, prioritizing the product backlog, and communicating requirements to stakeholders and the development team. The role partners with stakeholders to understand their needs and works with the Product Manager in a scaled Agile model to maintain alignment. It is an individual-contributor position that creates and prioritizes work for one team, refines stories with the team, and reviews and accepts stories while making on-the-spot scope and requirements decisions. The Product Owner partners with the team to achieve value through technology and an understanding of the business. This is a hands-on technical Product Owner role requiring substantial payments experience, particularly with H2H and files. The person will test files and file formats in systems, understand file formats and fields and how to update files, read technical designs, and translate complex designs into requirements. API knowledge and the ability to build a payload are advantageous. The role is based in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid schedule requiring three onsite days per week. Earlier work hours may be needed for meetings with UK and offshore team leads, including meetings as early as 6 a.m. on some days.
Requirements
- At least five years of Product Owner experience, specifically with payments.
- Payments experience, including H2H and files.
- Familiarity with file formats and fields, including how to update files.
- Hands-on testing experience with files and file formats, including XML 113.
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to read and understand technical designs.
- Ability to understand complex technical designs and translate them into requirements.
- Working knowledge of the product and a basic understanding of its business or technology domain.
- Experience with Scrum, Agile, Jira, Agile methodology, and user stories.
- Must be able to work onsite in Charlotte three days per week.
- May need to attend early meetings, potentially as early as 6 a.m. on some days.

Responsibilities

- Perform hands-on testing of files and file formats in systems.
- Translate complex technical designs into requirements.
