About The Position

Renesas' Performance Core Power (PCP) Business Group is rapidly scaling its Custom AI Power product line, which includes Power Modules, Digital Controllers, and Lateral Power Stages for major AI platform providers. The organization is structured around dedicated Business Unit teams for AWS, Google, and NVIDIA. Renesas is hiring a Business Unit Leader for one of two open seats: AWS or NVIDIA. The role has end-to-end responsibility for the customer business, including strategy, product roadmap, portfolio decisions, financial health, and cross-functional execution. The leader owns the customer-specific business strategy and multi-generation product roadmap, makes portfolio and investment decisions, and sets priorities for centralized resources. They serve as the primary business-level relationship owner for the customer, represent the customer's needs internally, and lead commercial discussions in partnership with Sales and Finance. The role directly leads dedicated Product Management, Customer Program Management, and Product Marketing resources while partnering with engineering, manufacturing, applications, and execution teams. For approximately the first 12 months, the leader will personally own end-to-end execution of a key product from new product introduction through volume ramp. Hands-on involvement in design, silicon, test, vendors, and internal and external manufacturing is an ongoing expectation. The leader will also build organizational capability through hiring, development, and eventual delegation as the business scales. Renesas is an embedded semiconductor solution provider with more than 21,000 employees in over 30 countries. Its culture is grounded in being Transparent, Agile, Global, Innovative, and Entrepreneurial. Renesas offers a competitive benefits package; further details are provided during the hiring process. This role is not available for remote work.

  • Track record engaging directly with large, sophisticated customers at working and executive levels.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, still-forming business and building processes and structure.
  • Strong technical fluency in power management.
  • General-manager mindset and comfort with roadmap reviews, pricing negotiations, and engineering design reviews.
  • Self-direction, ownership, and willingness to be hands-on with execution details in year one while building toward broader strategic scope.
  • Excellent executive communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills for global, cross-site teams.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
  • Must be eligible for any required U.S. government export license for access to applicable dual-use technology; licensing decisions are at Renesas' discretion.

  • Own business cases and investment justifications for new product and program starts in partnership with Finance and the Custom AI Power Leader.
  • Set and defend priorities for centralized design, operations, packaging, test, and other resources to meet BU execution needs.
  • Serve as the primary business-level relationship owner for the customer's power, silicon, systems, and business teams, building relationships from working level through leadership.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally and Renesas' capabilities and roadmap externally, including at executive business reviews.
  • Lead pricing, forecasting, commercial, and manufacturing strategy discussions with Sales and Finance.
  • Directly lead Product Management, Customer Program Management, and Product Marketing resources dedicated to the BU.
  • Partner with Module Design Engineering, Customer AEs, Module Manufacturing, and the Module Execution team to align capacity with roadmap commitments.
  • Personally own end-to-end execution of a key product from NPI through volume ramp for approximately the first 12 months, remaining hands-on across design, silicon, test, vendors, and internal and external manufacturing.
  • Build organizational capability through hiring, developing employees, and eventually delegating execution ownership as the business scales.
