Pivotal Health•New York, NY
•$145,000 - $180,000

About The Position

Pivotal Health is hiring a Product Manager for its Case Execution team to build and improve systems that move eligible healthcare claims through the Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) process. The role partners closely with product, operations, and engineering to improve workflows across eligibility, claim batching, negotiation, and arbitration, helping more claims reach resolution and improving outcomes for healthcare providers. The Product Manager investigates complex problems, works directly with data, and owns initiatives from discovery through launch and measurement. The work spans federal and state arbitration workflows, including uncovering operational challenges and identifying opportunities for technology to make a meaningful impact. The role offers the opportunity to learn from an experienced product leader while owning defined initiatives and growing into a dedicated product area and engineering partnership. Pivotal Health combines software, data, and services in an AI-driven platform designed to simplify complex reimbursement workflows. Its full-service IDR solution helps providers dispute underpaid claims, reduce administrative burden, and recover reimbursement. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Employment is contingent upon applicable background checks where permitted by law; employment is at-will.

Requirements

  • Approximately 2–5 years of experience in product management, strategy and operations, business operations, or a similarly analytical role with meaningful ownership of cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong SQL skills, including independently querying data, investigating unfamiliar tables, validating findings, and using analysis to inform decisions.
  • Experience taking a complex, ambiguous problem from initial investigation through delivery of a solution and measurable results.
  • Comfort partnering directly with engineering and operational stakeholders to translate business needs into product or workflow improvements.
  • Resourcefulness and self-direction, including seeking answers, testing assumptions, making progress independently, and knowing when to ask for help.
  • Ability to identify underlying problems, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and break work into achievable steps.
  • Strong writing skills to turn complex information into clear problem statements, product requirements, and concise updates.
  • Collaborative and thoughtful approach, with confidence to challenge assumptions, explain tradeoffs, and say no when needed.
  • Adaptability in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and processes are still being built.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude to accelerate analysis, research, and documentation, with sound judgment in validating outputs and taking responsibility for the work.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

  • Experience working with third-party vendors, integrations, or external data to improve product capabilities.
  • Formal product management background or healthcare experience is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Own product initiatives from discovery through delivery, including investigating problems, defining requirements, prioritizing solutions, partnering with engineering to launch improvements, measuring results, and driving iteration.

  • Translate stakeholder input, operational details, and analytical findings into focused problem statements, actionable requirements, and clear measures of success.
  • Break large problems into manageable releases and weigh business impact against effort while making tradeoffs as priorities shift across federal and state workflows.
