About The Position

Excelitas is a global technology leader with more than 7,500 employees, focused on delivering market-driven solutions to fulfill the illumination, optical, detection and imaging needs of OEMs and end-users across the biomedical, semiconductor, industrial, consumer products, scientific, security, defense and aerospace sectors. We are presently seeking a Product Manager that will be responsible for managing a subset of commercial product portfolio specific to the Boulder manufacturing site. Our facility in Boulder, Colorado has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense. This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a technical, engineering or scientific focuc, or relevant work experience
  • 3+ yrs relevant working experience
  • The ability to have a technically credible dialog with the engineering and production teams
  • Demonstrated strong & effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work with and organize cross-functional teams
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to travel 10 – 30% domestically and internationally to support global sales & marketing efforts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with optics, photonic systems or lasers is advantageous, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Technical and commercial support of the worldwide business development/sales team and customer service team regarding quotations, orders, customer complaints, trade shows and customer visits
  • Prepare quotes for OEM Boulder products and services in collaboration with Business Development/Sales, Engineering, Operations & Purchasing with the target to achieve market adequate prices & profitability margins in a competitive environment
  • Identification and tracking of market and technology trends
  • Collaborate with the Imaging & Laser Systems BU team on roadmap development and definition
  • Drive development of product specifications to meet profitability targets, market trends & demands
  • Work with business development manager & customers to provide revenue and bookings forecast for Boulder products
  • Represent the customer’s and the business unit’s interest in the project team developing a customer specific OEM product
  • Intensive cooperation with business development, engineering, procurement and operations, customer support team to help manage & meet customer expectations
  • Manage business case preparation and proposal development to ensure customer requirements are within the strategic growth goals for the Semiconductor division.
  • Support new product introduction activities as needed with team of subject matter experts
  • Work with operations to understand and manage product costs and profitability margins
  • Engage subject matter experts to coordinate technical customer support for managed products
  • Responsibility for data sheets and marketing material for your products
  • Management of products during the whole product life cycle from first planning through end of life
