About The Position

The Product Manager, New Product Growth leads discovery for new product ideas across Exostar’s network of aerospace and defense buyers and suppliers and adjacent market segments. Working with a Product Designer and an Engineer, the Product Manager identifies customer problems worth solving, develops and validates product solutions, assesses technical feasibility, and determines business viability. Discovery proceeds in short cycles and concludes with a gate review to decide whether an idea should continue, change direction, or stop. When an idea stops, the Product Manager moves on to the next opportunity. The role is suited to a product manager energized by early-stage ambiguity and experienced in building and growing B2B SaaS products, preferably in supply chain. The position may support validated concepts as they move into existing product teams for development and scaling, or lead a new product through development, new product introduction, and ongoing product management.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, including discovery or early-stage product work.
  • Track record of launching and growing enterprise B2B SaaS products, including pricing, packaging, and adoption.
  • Experience with a two-sided market or network product, including understanding each side’s needs and the effect of adoption on one side on the other.
  • Demonstrated skill in customer interviewing and surveys, synthesizing findings, and translating them into clear product specifications.
  • Experience testing pricing or willingness to pay with customers.
  • Experience with product-led growth, including activation, time to value, experimentation, growth loops, and product analytics.
  • Clear written communication skills and comfort presenting evidence to senior leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Curiosity and persistence with customers, willingness to hear that an idea is wrong, comfort with ambiguity and short deadlines, plain reporting of findings including bad news, and willingness to move to the next idea when evidence supports stopping.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise workflow products, such as supply chain systems for sourcing, procurement, supplier management, order and shipment management, demand planning, or supply chain visibility.
  • Experience in aerospace and defense or another regulated industry.
  • Experience selling to or working with large enterprise buyers, such as prime contractors or large manufacturers.
  • Experience building simple prototypes or working directly with a prototype engineer to explore ideas and assess technical feasibility.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct customer discovery interviews with buyers, suppliers, or both, and capture findings in a form that teams and executives can act on.
  • Translate interview findings into descriptions of customer workflows and problems, product requirements, covered obligations and workflows, and factors that would encourage adoption or switching.
  • Test willingness to pay and the buying model, including who signs, how purchases are made, and acceptable price points.
  • Write testable hypotheses and design experiments and prototype tests with the Product Designer and Engineer; use results to decide what to build, change, or drop.
  • Use AI to accelerate interview synthesis, market and competitor research, and prototyping, and define how to measure the quality of AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Define how the product works for both sides of a two-sided market and how value for buyers and suppliers depends on one another’s participation.
  • Define and test product-led growth mechanics, including activation, time to value, and growth loops, using product analytics and experiments to guide product decisions.
  • Recruit and manage prospects and customers for collaborative engagement during the 0-to-1 product lifecycle.
  • Prepare evidence packages and clear recommendations for gate reviews, supported by data.
  • Work with existing product teams to develop and scale validated ideas, or lead a new product through development, new product introduction, and ongoing product management.
