About The Position

The Product Manager, New Product Growth - Supply Chain leads discovery for new product ideas within Exostar’s aerospace and defense buyer and supplier network and adjacent markets. Working in short cycles with a Product Designer and Engineer, the Product Manager identifies worthwhile customer problems, develops and validates solutions, assesses technical feasibility and business viability, and recommends whether an idea should continue, change direction, or stop. If an idea is stopped, the team moves on to the next opportunity. The role is suited to a product manager energized by early-stage ambiguity and experienced with B2B enterprise products and services, particularly supply chain products. Depending on the idea, the role may support validated concepts with existing product teams or lead a new product through development, new product introduction, and ongoing product management. The position is hybrid, based in Herndon, Virginia, or Cincinnati, Ohio, with work in the office three days per week. The stated pay range is $120,000–$145,000 per year; final compensation depends on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, including discovery or early-stage product work.
  • Experience with supply-chain-related products, such as sourcing, procurement, supplier management, order and shipment management, demand planning, or supply-chain visibility.
  • Experience with a two-sided market or network product, including understanding each side’s needs and how adoption on one side affects the other.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct customer interviews and surveys, synthesize findings, and turn them into clear product specifications.
  • Experience testing pricing or customer willingness to pay.
  • Clear written communication skills and comfort presenting evidence to senior leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Curiosity and persistence with customers, openness to evidence that an idea is wrong, and comfort with ambiguity and short deadlines.
  • Ability to report findings plainly, including bad news, and move to the next idea when evidence indicates an idea should stop.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace and defense or another regulated industry.
  • Experience selling to or working with large enterprise buyers, such as prime contractors or large manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with sourcing, supplier qualification, compliance attestation, or onboarding workflows.
  • Experience building simple prototypes or working directly with a prototype engineer to explore ideas and assess technical feasibility.
  • Experience with product-led growth, including activation, time to value, experimentation, growth loops, and product analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct customer discovery, including interviews with buyers, suppliers, or both, and capture findings for team and executive action.
  • Translate interview findings into clear customer workflows, problems, product requirements, obligations, and adoption or switching factors.
  • Test willingness to pay and buying models during discovery, including decision-makers, purchasing processes, and acceptable price points.
  • Write testable hypotheses, design experiments and prototype tests with the Product Designer and Engineer, and decide what to build, change, or drop.
  • Use AI to accelerate interview synthesis, market and competitor research, and prototyping; define how the quality of AI-enabled capabilities will be measured.
  • Define how a product serves both sides of a two-sided market and how value for buyers and suppliers depends on each other’s participation.
  • Where appropriate, define and test product-led growth mechanics, including activation, time to value, and growth loops, using analytics and experiments.
  • Recruit and manage prospects and customers for collaborative engagement during the 0-to-1 product lifecycle.
  • Prepare evidence packages and clear recommendations for gate reviews.
  • Work with existing product teams to develop and scale validated ideas, or lead a new product through development, new product introduction, and ongoing product management.
