About The Position

Conair, a global supplier of auxiliary equipment for plastics processing, is hiring a Product Manager to own its Size Reduction product line. The portfolio includes granulators, shredders, and associated equipment for feeding material into machines and evacuating regrind. The role is responsible for growing market share and profitability by strengthening the product line’s competitive position. It combines market research, product strategy, pricing and margin management, and field sales support. Prior size reduction or granulation experience is not required; the successful candidate is expected to learn the market quickly and become its expert. The position is located in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, and reports to the Director of Product Management. The Product Manager works closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, and Purchasing. The role contributes to New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE), marketing strategy, sales support, pricing and margin analysis, and partner relationships. Customer, sales representative, partner, and industry-event interactions provide market and competitive insights to guide product-line decisions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
At least 5 years of product management experience with industrial or capital equipment.
Demonstrated ownership of a product line, including roadmap, pricing, margin management, and new product launches.
Experience with stage-gate or similar new product development processes and business case development.
Strong analytical and financial skills, including pricing and margin analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
Exceptional verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to engage with customers, sales representatives, partners, and company staff.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities, and adaptability in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

Own the Size Reduction product line, including granulators, shredders, and associated feeding and evacuation equipment; manage its strategy, roadmap, portfolio, pricing, and margins.
Build expertise in size reduction applications and advise Sales, Service, and customers on selecting and configuring complete systems.
Represent the product line in the NPD stage-gate process by developing business cases, defining market and product requirements, and driving launch readiness.
Manage relationships with strategic suppliers and partners, including OEM partners and Piovan Group companies, to optimize cost, availability, and market fit.
Engage regional sales managers, representatives, and key customer accounts to understand market trends and gather product-line feedback through customer visits.
Develop and deliver training for Conair staff and sales representatives on product applications and after-sales support.
Collaborate with Marketing to maintain current product literature and participate in promotions, trade shows, and product launches.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market-share opportunities, target customers, and new accounts, working with Sales and Marketing to pursue them.
Participate in profitability meetings and lead pricing and margin analysis to move the product line toward margin targets.
Support VA/VE efforts for size reduction products.
Use financial and other KPIs to evaluate product-line performance and make data-driven decisions.
Work with Engineering to align product plans, sustainment priorities, and new product development.
Conduct bi-annual self-reviews and establish quarterly and half-year goals for the product line.
