About The Position

Thumbtack is seeking a Product Manager to focus on Pro Integrations & Foundations. This role is crucial for expanding Thumbtack's reach to larger and more sophisticated businesses, a significant growth opportunity. The Product Manager will be responsible for shaping how Thumbtack serves this segment by connecting with the tools these businesses use and creating foundational experiences for scaled success. This involves working closely with partnerships and business development teams to drive growth through integrations, identify new growth levers, and launch differentiated products. The Pro Activation & Success pillar at Thumbtack aims to help local service businesses discover, start, succeed, and grow with the platform, building products that foster pro thriving through close collaboration with marketing, partnerships, and sales across the entire pro journey. The team is data-driven and united by the goal of helping pros build stronger businesses.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning complex product areas and delivering meaningful customer and business outcomes.
  • Experience turning ambiguous, early stage opportunities into clear product strategies and taking new products from discovery through launch and adoption.
  • Strong technical fluency and experience owning technically complex products, with the ability to partner with engineering on APIs, data, integrations, and system tradeoffs while keeping customer value at the center.
  • Excellent product judgment and customer empathy, with the ability to understand complex business workflows and turn them into simple, intuitive experiences.
  • Strong analytical thinking and business acumen, including the ability to uncover growth opportunities, define success, and balance near-term impact with long-term investments.
  • An AI-first mindset: curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for using agentic AI workflows throughout product development, paired with sound judgment about where AI adds value.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead across engineering, design, data science, commercial teams, and external stakeholders, using clear communication to navigate different incentives and build alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for unlocking growth among larger, more sophisticated pros, with accountability for customer and business outcomes.
  • Develop a deep understanding of how these pros operate, using research and data to identify unmet needs, product gaps, and new opportunities for growth.
  • Set the strategy for our APIs, data integrations, and partner offerings, working directly with partnerships, business development, and external partners to create value for pros and open new growth channels.
  • Lead new products and capabilities from early discovery through launch and adoption, helping complex businesses succeed on a product originally designed for smaller businesses.
  • Partner with engineering to make thoughtful tradeoffs between near-term opportunities and durable technical foundations that can support future products and partnerships.
  • Bring engineering, design, data science, marketing, sales, and partnerships together around clear priorities and lead execution across organizational boundaries.
  • Define success, test the highest-potential ideas, and use what you learn to scale the experiences and growth levers that deliver meaningful results.

  • Total cash compensation range varies by location (San Francisco/Bay Area, San Jose, New York City, Seattle metros: $200,600.00 - $259,600.00; Austin, TX or Washington DC metros or in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Washington states: $180,200.00 - $233,200.00; All other US locations: $170,900.00 - $221,100.00)
