Gantri•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Gantri is seeking a hands-on, execution-oriented Product Manager to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to its physical product programs. The role owns product requirements, schedules, roadmaps, testing, and budgets to turn product strategy into shipped products. Near-term priorities include launching and developing the Wireless and Low programs, and supporting new Gantri Made products and the 2027 Creator Release. As Gantri expands beyond lighting into categories such as furniture and metal, the Product Manager will help shape physical product strategy. The role works across industrial design, product design engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, and marketing, coordinating internal teams and external partners and vendors. It reports to the Head of Product and collaborates closely with design, engineering, operations, sales, and marketing.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product or program management experience in physical consumer products.
  • Proven record of shipping physical products from concept through mass production, including work with contract manufacturers and overseas vendors.
  • Strong ability to write PRDs and product requirements that connect business and user outcomes to clear, testable requirements.
  • Working knowledge of hardware development phases (EVT/DVT/PVT), bills of materials, unit cost, and certification.
  • Experience planning and running user testing and translating qualitative and quantitative feedback into product decisions.
  • Ability to own schedules, budgets, and capacity plans, with strong spreadsheet and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to align designers, engineers, vendors, and executives around clear decisions.
  • Highly organized and able to run several programs at once in a fast-moving startup.
  • Passion for design, sustainability, and new approaches to manufacturing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lighting, furniture, home goods, or consumer electronics.
  • Experience with connected or battery-powered products.

Responsibilities

  • Help define and evolve Gantri’s physical product strategy, translating company goals, market signals, and user insights into category, collection, and program priorities.
  • Write and maintain PRDs and product requirements as the single source of truth for industrial design, product design engineering, electrical engineering and firmware, sourcing, manufacturing, quality assurance, and marketing.
  • Own program schedules and requirements across development phases (EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP), tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and gate reviews with internal teams and external partners.
  • Plan and run user testing, including in-home testing with employees and customers, and translate findings into clear requirement changes.
  • Prioritize and build product roadmaps, and lead budget planning for physical product programs while tracking spend against plan.
  • Manage team capacity by balancing resourcing across design, engineering, and sourcing and flagging conflicts early.
  • Drive the launch and ongoing development of the Wireless and Low programs, coordinating launch readiness across product, operations, marketing, sales, and customer experience.
  • Support new Gantri Made products and the 2027 Creator Release from brief through launch, in partnership with designers, brands, and internal teams.
  • Build scalable processes and documentation, including PRD templates, gate reviews, and decision logs.

  • Paid time off and flexible vacation policy.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
  • Professional development opportunities and learning stipend.
  • Collaborative, creative, and sustainability-focused work environment.
  • Access to Gantri-designed products and innovation initiative.
