About The Position

The Product Manager for Financial Systems will lead the development and improvement of our internal financial technology infrastructure. In this role, you will act as the bridge between Accounting and Finance stakeholders and IT teams to translate financial requirements (General Ledger, AP, AR, Revenue) into practical automated solutions. The ideal candidate will have domain expertise in financial systems, enthusiasm for process automation, and a strong track record of delivering high-impact, internal tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Computer Science or Finance, Masters Degree a plus
  • 7-10 years of product management experience, with at least 3+ years specifically in financial systems or ERP-focused roles
  • A strong understanding of accounting principles (GL, AP, AR), revenue recognition, and finance
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion Cloud required)
  • Attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Effective teamwork, and communication skills
  • Experience with energy industry and/or public companies

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the power business startup team.
  • Facilitate discussions with Accounting and Finance stakeholders to identify their current pain points, desired future capabilities, relative priorities, and map to accounting and finance automation strategies.
  • Lead the finance team through ERP transition projects.
  • Champion requirement gathering and solution design that includes working with the team to gather, document, and finalize business and finance requirements to enable the desired capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technology on solution designs.
  • Review the automation strategy, intake requests, update priorities and sequencing as needed, and socialize with stakeholders to validate sequencing and maintain broad visibility on overall progress.
  • Collaborate with IT, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain the roadmap for products and features.
  • Transition teams from manual, Excel-based processes to automated ERP-driven solutions.
  • Engage with data lake technologies or AI-powered automation in finance.
  • Participate in driving user adoption for new internal tools.
  • Gather customer insights to identify automation opportunities and drive efficiency.
  • Work as a member of the diligence team on M&A activity.
