About the position
As a Product Engineering Manager at Stensul, you will be responsible for leading and managing a high-performance team of engineers. Your main focus will be on expanding the team's capacity and capabilities by attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent. You will also play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of impactful solutions that address real customer needs and drive business growth. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align on business needs and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Leading one of the product engineering teams and expanding its capacity and capabilities by attracting, adding, developing, and retaining exceptional talent
- Coaching engineers and peers to ensure their success and motivation within the company
- Leading and promoting discussions and agreements within the team and across teams to ensure alignment with business needs, strategy, and goals
- Ensuring the teams build and mature impactful solutions that solve real customer needs and drive business growth
- Ensuring timely delivery of the team's contributions and solutions into the mainstream of the Engineering Team's overall output
- Ensuring processes are followed and effective technical feasibility analysis is conducted, with engineers directly involved in conversations with users
- Contributing to the development of a strong culture, structure, processes, cross-team synchronization, technical planning, and up-leveling of the Engineering area as an active member of the Engineering Managers team
- Creating an environment of psychological safety, respect, and trust, providing guidance and advice to engineers and peers
- Developing an agile engineering culture centered around quality, technical sustainability, and continuous improvement
- Partnering with Product Managers, Product Designers, Go To Market, and other functions to ensure team alignment and understanding of business needs and impact, enabling effective cross-functional collaboration
- Providing transparency on the team's initiatives, opportunities, challenges, and learnings
- Taking a hands-on approach when necessary
- Being resident in Argentina and having availability to be in Buenos Aires at least once a month
- Having 5+ years of experience leading and caring for an engineering team, solving complex problems that demand the best performance
- Having 7+ years of experience shipping high-quality software
- Having a strong customer-oriented mindset
- Having advanced oral and written English skills
- Having strong communication skills and the ability to work and connect with multiple areas in the company
- Having solid knowledge of programming languages and paradigms, software architecture, and quality.
Requirements
- Resident in Argentina and available to be in Buenos Aires at least once a month
- 5+ years of experience leading and caring for an engineering team
- 7+ years of experience shipping high-quality software
- Strong customer-oriented mindset
- Advanced oral and written English skills
- Strong communication skills, both speaking and writing
- Solid knowledge of programming languages, software architecture, and quality
