About The Position

Brilliant Earth is seeking a Product Development Specialist to support the development of its jewelry. The role manages samples, coordinates with vendors, and keeps the product development process accurate and moving in a fast-paced environment. The specialist builds day-to-day relationships with manufacturing partners and supports resourceful decision-making, while helping ensure purchases meet the company’s quality and craftsmanship standards. The company’s social and environmental mission is an important part of its work. This is a full-time, fully onsite position in Secaucus, New Jersey, with a Monday–Friday schedule. The targeted compensation budget is $55,000–$70,000 and may be adjusted at the company’s discretion. The role includes vendor and sample management, quality assurance and process improvement, and cross-functional work supporting supply planning and inventory control. It also involves using AI tools to streamline sample tracking, vendor communications, and quality reporting.

Requirements

Experience with vendor management is required; two or more years is preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, including with external vendors and partners.
Strong computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint, and knowledge of ERP or inventory systems.
Experience using AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot to streamline work, and interest in finding new applications for them.
Interest in socially and environmentally responsible organizations and products.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to think critically and adapt quickly with a high sense of urgency in a flexible environment.
Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work as a self-starter.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
Experience in the jewelry industry and/or product development is preferred.
Experience performing quality assurance testing and photographing physical samples is preferred.
Experience with NetSuite is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage sample inventory end-to-end, including tracking, organizing, photographing, and performing quality assurance.
Work directly with vendors to produce samples and live orders, communicating to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
Build and maintain vendor relationships, including leading weekly meetings to track deliverables.
Manage style allocation across the catalogue with partners while upholding manufacturing standards and best practices.
Support quality improvement initiatives, including chain testing and tracking quality metrics.
Contribute cross-functionally to supply planning and inventory control.
Identify and implement improvements to systems, policies, and procedures that support quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
Support the identification of potential packaging needs for new products.
Use AI tools to streamline sample tracking, vendor communication, and quality reporting.
