About the position
The job overview for this position is that LendingTree is seeking a Product Designer to define and develop the customer experience for existing and future products. The designer will be responsible for disrupting the mortgage, refinance, and home equity financial technology experience. They should have strong critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills, and will work closely with product marketing and customer experience to uncover customer needs and incorporate feedback into the user experience. The designer will also be involved in design audits, workshops, and iterative design-led innovation for multiple products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Marketing and Customer Experience to uncover and document customer needs and incorporate end user feedback into the user experience
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to drive design thinking
- Uphold our customer-centered design approach by contributing to the design and execution of qualitative usability and generative research
- Works with Product Managers and Software Engineers to create and deliver reliable designs, prototypes, and specifications
- Perform design audits to understand gaps and opportunities in our current experience and our competitors
- Help to co-facilitate remote and in-person design workshops with cross-functional teams to define customer journeys; ideate & brainstorm on product experiences; inform "right fidelity" design explorations
- Drive an iterative "right fidelity" approach to design-led innovation for multiple products - from paper to Figma prototypes to production experiments.
- Partner with our UI and Content Design team to ensure product experience aligns with our brand and design system principles
Requirements
- Must have a portfolio available for review with examples of project experience that demonstrates strategic and conceptual thinking
- Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
- 2+ years of experience designing products that fit into complex systems and user journeys
- Strong product experience sensibility
- Knowledgeable developing wireframes and prototypes with Figma
- Knowledgeable developing user research studies with UserTesting.com
- Knowledgeable with Design Thinking product development methodologies and tools (i.e. Lean UX—Think, Make, Check)
- Knowledgeable with Agile, Scrum, and Dual Track Agile methodologies
- Knowledgeable with HTML/CSS/Javascript and Microservices
