Reporting to the Food Division Manager, the Produce Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of the Produce Operations while maintaining a profitable department, high-quality products and superb service levels.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in leading a team.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience.
  • Completed or willingness to obtain the Produce Advance program.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team through effective feedback and coaching practices.
  • Solid judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and team members.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Honest, trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • Belief in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and recognition of the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory and management experience in the retail food industry is considered an asset.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering legendary service to make all internal customers of our Co-op feel “at home here”.
  • Coordinating and directing all aspects of the Produce Operations while maintaining a profitable department, high-quality products and superb service levels.
  • Effectively communicating with and managing your team through scheduling, approving payroll, hiring, onboarding, monitoring productivity, performance evaluations, training and development (with an emphasis on safety), discipline, discharge, etc.
  • Ensuring team members and leaders follow recommended programs, guidelines, policies, and procedures while respecting safety and asset protection standards.
  • Implementing marketing ideas and encouraging employee engagement while keeping guest service standards consistently high.
  • Budgeting, tracking inventory, managing expenses, monitoring productivity, and administering the talent management program.
