Produce Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment, assists Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk inspects and rotates deliveries and sales-floor produce, maintains stock and displays, removes unsuitable items, and keeps reserve storage organized. The role also cleans and sanitizes equipment and display areas, creates signage, checks prices, and assists the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed. Team members follow club policies and procedures, support a safe and positive environment, and may perform duties in other departments as assigned. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.

- Ability to move frequently on hard surfaces and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; may need to lift and move heavy or awkward objects greater than 50 pounds with assistance.
- Work in an indoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, or coolers.

Responsibilities
- Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping Members find products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery; ensure received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; remove products unsuitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the storage area daily.
- Follow established guidelines when disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
- Generate signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Support safe, positive, inclusive, and respectful experiences for Members and fellow team members.
- Work with the team to maintain GOLD club standards, including stocked items, executed promotional plans, accurate signage, and clean, organized spaces.
- Understand how to access and read departmental production or financial performance reports and how consistent execution can affect business results.
