About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment, assists members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk follows club policies and procedures, contributes to a safe and positive environment, and may perform duties in other departments as needed.

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring received items meet or exceed company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; remove products unsuitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the area daily.
• Dispose of damaged, spoiled, and expired products according to established guidelines.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate signage and perform price checks; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Follow all club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including work in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, and full attendance.
• Support team and member service standards, including a safe and positive environment and daily GOLD Member and Club Standards.
• Understand how to access and read production and/or financial performance reporting for the department and how consistent execution affects the business.
