Produce Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting Members with product knowledge and customer service and ensuring that produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk works with team members to follow club policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment; and deliver the club’s GOLD standards. The position requires regular, predictable, full attendance and may include duties in other departments as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; heavy or awkward objects over 50 pounds may need to be moved with assistance.
- Frequently move about on hard surfaces and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Responsibilities
- Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping Members locate products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store deliveries, ensuring received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products unsuitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the storage area daily.
- Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
- Generate signage for produce goods and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Provide service excellence, address and deescalate Member concerns, and contribute to a safe and positive Member experience.
- Work collaboratively to maintain club standards, accurate signage, stocked items, promotional plans, and clean, organized areas.
