About The Position

The Produce Clerk assists with inventory counts and prepares produce for display by trimming, washing, banding, and/or wrapping goods. The role builds, rotates, and maintains product displays and department schematics; cleans and sanitizes work areas; monitors temperatures in coolers and cases; maintains product knowledge; and unloads trucks and organizes inventory. The clerk also works cross-functionally with other departments and performs other duties assigned within the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Detail-oriented.
• Collaboration skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to multitask.
• Customer-service oriented.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to sit, stand, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to drive and travel to all company locations as required.

• Previous experience in produce departments or supermarkets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure freshness and quality by rotating products.
• Inventory merchandise on hand.
• Set up and maintain displays.
• Assist the manager with pricing and signage.
• Maintain neat and orderly coolers.
• Use and maintain the produce sprinkler system.
• Cut fruits and vegetables for packaged sale.
• Maintain cleanliness of scales.
• Perform other duties assigned within the department.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments.
• Prepare produce for display by trimming, washing, banding, and/or wrapping goods.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and monitor temperatures in coolers and cases.
• Unload trucks and organize inventory.
