About The Position

The Produce Clerk assists with inventory counts and prepares produce for display by trimming, washing, banding, and/or wrapping products. The role builds, rotates, and maintains product displays; maintains department schematics; cleans and sanitizes the work area; monitors temperatures in coolers and cases; and helps unload trucks and organize inventory. The clerk also uses product knowledge to support department operations and customer service.

The role requires working collaboratively with other departments and performing additional duties assigned within the department. The work environment is typical of an office and retail store, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. The position may require travel to company locations as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to sit, stand, and use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls while performing job duties.

• Ability to drive and flexibility to travel to all company locations as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in produce departments or supermarkets.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Ensure freshness and quality through product rotation.
• Count or inventory merchandise on hand.
• Set up and maintain product displays.
• Assist the manager with pricing and signage.
• Keep coolers neat and orderly.
• Use and maintain the produce sprinkler wet system.
• Cut fruits and vegetables for packaged sale.
• Maintain the cleanliness of scales.
• Unload trucks and organize inventory.
• Clean and sanitize the work area and monitor cooler and case temperatures.
• Perform other duties assigned within the department.
• Work cross-functionally with other departments.
