About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department environment, supports Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. Produce Clerks also help maintain safe, clean, organized, and accurately signed displays and work areas, follow club policies and procedures, and may perform other duties or work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe-handling tips, and helping Members find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring received products meet or exceed company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products unsuitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and keeping the storage area organized and condensed daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate produce signage and perform price checks when necessary; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Work with the team to maintain safe, positive, clean, organized, and well-stocked club standards and deliver service excellence.
