Produce Clerk Full Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk inspects and stores deliveries, rotates products on the sales floor and in back stock, keeps displays and storage areas stocked, organized, and clean, and removes damaged, spoiled, expired, or otherwise unsuitable items. The position also supports inventory and order processing, produces signage and price checks, cleans and sanitizes equipment and refrigerated areas, follows club policies and procedures, and may work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Requirements

- Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; lifting and moving heavier or awkward objects over 50 pounds may be required with assistance.
- Frequently move about and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- Work experience in a produce department is preferred.
- Knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal items, is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe-handling tips, and helping members find products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring it meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays fully stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products unsuitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the storage area daily.
- Dispose of damaged, spoiled, and expired products according to established guidelines.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
- Generate produce signage and perform price checks as necessary; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Provide member service and help resolve or deescalate member concerns.
- Follow club standards and contribute to a safe, positive, clean, and organized environment.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
