About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures that produce meets or exceeds company quality standards.

The Produce Clerk inspects, rotates, and stores deliveries; maintains fresh, fully stocked, neat displays and organized reserve stock; follows disposal guidelines for unsuitable products; and cleans and sanitizes produce equipment and areas. The role also supports signage, pricing, inventory, and order processing, follows club policies and procedures, and may work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe-handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce deliveries, ensuring received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor, keep cases and display areas stocked, neat, and clean, and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the area daily.
• Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
• Support safe, positive, inclusive, and collaborative experiences for Members and team members; address or escalate concerns as appropriate.
• Work with the team to meet daily GOLD club standards, including stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and keeping areas clean and organized.
