Produce Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment by assisting Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk inspects, stores, and rotates produce; maintains stocked, clean, and organized displays and reserve storage; follows procedures for disposing of unsuitable products; and supports inventory and order processing as needed. The position also involves cleaning and sanitizing produce equipment and areas, generating signage, checking prices, following club policies and procedures, and helping in other departments when needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities
- Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping them locate products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store deliveries, ensuring received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor, keep cases and displays fully stocked, neat, and clean, and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the area daily.
- Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, the produce cooler, refrigerated display cases, and related areas.
- Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
