Produce Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department’s overall environment, helps members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The clerk inspects, rotates, and stores deliveries; keeps displays and reserve stock organized, clean, fresh, and fully stocked; follows disposal guidelines for damaged, spoiled, or expired products; and assists with inventory and order processing as needed. The position also cleans and sanitizes produce equipment and areas, generates accurate signage, performs price checks, follows club policies and procedures, and may work in other departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.

- Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; lifting and moving heavier or awkward objects may be required with assistance.
- Work involves frequent movement on hard surfaces and positioning to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- Work in an indoor environment with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, or coolers.
Nice To Haves
- Work experience in a produce department preferred.
- Knowledge of fruits and vegetables, including seasonal items, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping them find products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery, ensuring it meets or exceeds company produce standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays fully stocked, neat, and clean; remove products unsuitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the area daily.
- Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
- Generate signage and perform price checks as necessary; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures and support their application and compliance.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Deliver friendly member service, address and deescalate concerns, and contribute to a safe and positive environment.
- Work collaboratively to meet GOLD club standards, including stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and keeping areas clean and organized.
- Understand how to access and read department production or financial performance reporting and how consistent execution affects the business.
