About The Position

The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables, maintaining the department’s overall environment and helping Members through product knowledge and customer service. The role ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards, keeps displays and storage areas clean and organized, and supports club policies and standards. The position also includes regular, predictable, full attendance and may involve duties in other departments as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Able to move frequently on hard surfaces and position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
• Frequently able to lift objects up to 50 pounds; may need to lift and move heavy or awkward objects over 50 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping them locate products throughout the club.
• Inspect, rotate, and store produce upon delivery; ensure received produce meets or exceeds company standards.
• Rotate produce on the sales floor, keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean, and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
• Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the area daily.
• Dispose of damaged, spoiled, or expired products according to established guidelines.
• Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
• Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, and areas, including the produce cooler and refrigerated display cases.
• Generate produce signage and perform price checks when needed; ensure products are accurately priced and signed.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support their application and compliance.
• Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
• Deliver service excellence, address and deescalate Member concerns, and contribute to a safe and positive environment.
• Work with the team to meet daily GOLD club standards, including stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and keeping areas clean and organized.
• Understand how to access and read department production or financial performance reporting and how consistent execution affects the business.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
