Produce Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Produce Clerk sorts, displays, removes, and replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the produce department. The role maintains the department environment by assisting Members with product knowledge and customer service, and ensures produce meets or exceeds company quality standards. The Produce Clerk inspects, stores, rotates, and displays produce; maintains clean, organized, and fully stocked sales and storage areas; follows procedures for removing damaged or expired products; and supports inventory, order processing, pricing, and signage as needed. The position also follows club policies and procedures, assists in other departments when needed, and requires regular, predictable, full attendance. The job involves frequent movement and positioning to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. It is performed indoors, with frequent exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds; lifting and moving heavy or awkward objects over 50 pounds may be required with assistance.
- Frequent movement on hard surfaces and positioning to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.

Responsibilities
- Assist Members in the produce department by answering questions, recommending products and safe handling tips, and helping Members find products throughout the club.
- Inspect, rotate, and store delivered produce, ensuring it meets or exceeds company standards.
- Rotate produce on the sales floor to maintain freshness and variety; keep cases and displays stocked, neat, and clean; and remove products no longer suitable for sale.
- Maintain the produce reserve stock area by dating and rotating back stock and organizing and condensing the area daily.
- Follow established guidelines for disposing of damaged, spoiled, or expired products.
- Assist the Fresh Manager with inventory and order processing as needed.
- Clean and sanitize produce equipment, display fixtures, the produce cooler, refrigerated display cases, and other department areas.
- Generate produce signage and perform price checks as needed; ensure items are accurately priced and signed.
- Maintain club policies and procedures.
- Perform other assigned duties, including working in other departments as needed.
- Provide friendly customer service, address or escalate Member concerns, and contribute to a safe and positive environment.
- Work with the team to maintain club standards, including stocking items, executing promotional plans, maintaining accurate signage, and keeping areas clean and organized.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
