About The Position

As a Produce / Bakery Specialist, you’ll ensure all Produce and Bakery merchandising areas are well maintained and stocked each morning. You’ll provide excellent customer service and perform all responsibilities and job duties with a sense of ownership and a team approach. The role involves stocking and rotating products, supporting displays, assisting Customers, and maintaining food safety, sanitation, freshness, and quality standards. The position is performed in a fast-paced retail environment and may involve other job-related tasks as requested by a supervisor.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Experience in customer service.
Working knowledge of product rotation, department/store sanitation, and shrink awareness.
Communication skills.
Customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Initiative and dependability.
Completion of required job skills and compliance-related training.
Ability to lift 55 lbs and manage in excess of 85 lbs, while following safe lifting practices.
Ability to safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

Stock and rotate items as needed.
Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products to support in-stock conditions.
Build, stock, sign, maintain, and take down store displays as directed.
Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality.
Report missing signs or tags to the Department Manager or Shelf Edge team.
Report out-of-date and damaged product received issues to the Department Manager.
Answer product-related questions and assist Customers with selections.
Communicate safe handling and cooking methods to Customers as needed.
Organize and clean prep areas, freezers, coolers, wareroom, and sales floor.
Clean and sanitize display cases and properly operate and maintain equipment.
Maintain standards in shrink, safety, inventory control, and sanitation.
Comply with department and store operating procedures and federal and state regulations.
