About The Position

This position is responsible for providing strategic procurement support to the internal and external stakeholders/business partners to ensure simplified, cost effective, and strategic procurement outcomes.

Requirements

  • University degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in procurement, strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • A creative thinker able to take direction with a good understanding of business needs
  • High attention to detail, demonstrated ability to produce high quality work
  • Excellent co-ordination, prioritization and analytical skills necessary for an often-changing environment, to achieve stated goals and objectives
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise good judgment, tact and discretion
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a mature and professional manner
  • Can work effectively and make decisions in an environment with shifting demands and change
  • Experience with electronic Purchase Order Systems and Microsoft Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • A recognized professional procurement designation (CPPB or NISCL-CSCL / former CSCMP), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive public sector procurement experience would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Provide end to end guidance and support on a variety of procurement processes such as Request for Quotations (RFQs), Request for Proposals (RFPs), and Request for Supplier Qualifications (RFSQ)
  • Provide procurement-related services in a fast-paced high-volume environment and assist in the overall service delivery
  • Prepare and issue procurement documents, memos, pricing spreadsheets, reports, presentations, and other correspondence as needed
  • Set up and participate in phone or video conference calls using conference bridges, Zoom, Webex or other similar tools
  • Prepare Purchase Orders, maintain procurement records and generate meaningful reports from the Purchase Order system as needed
  • Consult with client/end user groups to source, create and maintain Approved Service Provider (ASP) Rosters for various services
  • Manage responses from suppliers and respond to all inquiries as needed. Communicate the selection of the awarded Respondent internally and externally
  • Facilitate the debriefing process for unsuccessful RFP respondents when requested
