About The Position
The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the Procurement Section of the Finance Division within the Corporate Services Department. This regular full-time position is responsible for performing the purchases of goods, services, and construction on behalf of the CVRD. The Procurement Specialist will provide professional procurement services to CVRD staff on a wide variety of procurement activities, ensuring the best value for money.
Requirements
- Two-year diploma in business management or a relevant discipline from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
- A minimum of four (4) years of public sector procurement experience, preferably in local government.
- Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
- A Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or similar procurement training from a recognized educational institution.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
- Resume and cover letter.
- Driver’s abstract.
Nice To Haves
- Preference may be given to candidates with formal accredited procurement certifications.
