Processor and Retail Stock Associate
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of Akron is hiring an entry-level Processor and Retail Stock Associate to sort, inspect, and prepare donated goods for resale while supporting the organization’s mission of helping individuals prepare for, find, and retain employment. The role involves evaluating a range of donated merchandise for salability, including textiles, furniture, appliances, household goods, books, toys, decorations, and sporting goods. Electronic merchandise must be tested to determine whether it operates safely. The associate sorts, hangs, tags, prices, and prepares items for resale and completes accurate reports as required. The position also supports the development of service participants, maintains a clean and hazard-free work area, and operates equipment according to safe operating procedures. Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

- Reliability, a positive attitude, pride in work, and efficiency.
Nice To Haves
- Previous customer service experience, preferably in retail or food service.
- Work experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities
- Sort donated goods and textiles while meeting Goodwill quality control standards.
- Inspect textiles, furniture, appliances, small household wares, novelty items, books, toys, decorations, and sporting goods to determine salability.
- Test electronic merchandise to determine safe operation.
- Sort, hang, tag, price, and prepare goods for resale.
- Prepare accurate reports as required throughout the day.
- Help promote the development of service participants.
- Keep the work area clean and free of hazards.
- Operate equipment while following safe operating procedures.
