About The Position
We are currently seeking a Private Process Server or Process Serving Agency to join our team as an independent contractor in Allegany/Garrett County, Maryland. This 1099 contract role offers flexible scheduling and weekly compensation based on completed jobs. Applicants must reside in or currently serve within a 45-mile radius of Allegany/Garret County, Maryland. We are flexible if you live near the border of Frederick, Carroll, or Garrett?
Requirements
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license and active auto insurance
- Smartphone capable of running mobile apps
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Professionalism, punctuality, and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to travel 75% (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Licensed Private Investigators
- Experienced Process Servers
- Current or Former Law Enforcement Professionals
- Civil Process Service: 2 years (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Make diligent service attempts: Collections Files: Up to 5 attempts at varied times (morning, evening, weekend, etc.). Non-Collections Files: 2 diligent attempts (morning and evening).
- Activate cases within 24 hours of receiving documents (via FedEx or email).
- Electronically sign all eligible affidavits within 48 hours of service.
- Use ProVest’s mobile applications to upload photo evidence of addresses, record service or non-service outcomes, and submit detailed attempt notes.
