The Process Operator works in a dynamic, team-based environment to safely produce high-quality cat litter in the correct quantity and at the right cost. The operator owns all aspects of their assigned area and equipment, including safety and quality improvements, machine setups and product changeovers, and achievement of production and cost targets. The role includes unloading rail cars, operating and maintaining process equipment, monitoring controls and instrumentation, performing quality checks, and contributing to plant operations. Operators work autonomously, prioritize work according to business needs, collaborate across departments, participate in team activities, and comply with plant procedures, policies, and standards. The position involves operating, monitoring, and adjusting process equipment; reviewing and reconciling system data; creating reports and conducting root-cause analysis; troubleshooting and repairing equipment within the limits of training and certification; completing routine and preventative maintenance; and supporting training documentation and new-operator training. Operators also handle raw materials and supplies, prepare and mix ingredients, monitor production processes, inspect products, maintain housekeeping and inventory areas, and complete other duties as directed by management. This role follows a 12-hour rotational/swing shift and pays $24.93 per hour plus a $1.05 shift differential. Work is indoors in a partially environmentally controlled setting and includes exposure to dust, noise, moving equipment, scents and odors, and work at heights. The job requires prolonged standing and walking, use of common safety equipment, and occasional lifting or pushing/pulling of loads up to 50 pounds.
