About The Position

The Faculty of Law at McGill University is seeking an instructor for PROC 459, a Civil Litigation Workshop course for the Fall 2026 term. This course is designed to equip students with the technical and practical skills necessary for civil litigation, covering techniques in discovery, production of exhibits, examination of witnesses, legal argument, and trial tactics, culminating in a simulated trial. Requirements

  • A first degree in law.
  • Several years of significant practice or professional experience in the relevant area.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate law students in a bilingual setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Civil Litigation Workshop course (PROC 459) for the Fall 2026 term.
  • Provide students with technical and practical tools for civil litigation.
  • Cover techniques applicable in discovery, production of exhibits, examination of witnesses, legal argument, and trial tactics.
  • Oversee a day-long simulated trial as the culmination of the course.
