About The Position

This course, PROC 124, is intended as an introduction to the basic structure, values, and problems of civil procedure. It explores issues arising in civil procedure systems in Canada and the Western world, rather than focusing solely on the rules for litigation careers. The course addresses strategic and financial considerations of litigation, broad principles of the judicial order, and key aspects of pre-trial procedure. It aims to highlight fundamental tensions in the organization and implementation of dispute resolution by state-appointed judges.

Requirements

  • A first degree in law (at a minimum).
  • Several years of significant practice or professional experience in the relevant area.
  • Experience in teaching undergraduate law students in a bilingual setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate law students in a bilingual setting.
  • Provide instruction on Judicial Institutions & Civil Procedure (PROC 124).
