Pro Tem Instructor (Physics) - Open Pool

About The Position

The Department of Physics seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for temporary instructional positions. Pro Tem Instructors may teach lower-division foundational physics courses as well as select upper-division courses, based on departmental needs and the qualifications of the Pro Tem Instructor. Positions are limited duration appointments, potentially renewable up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physics or related field.
  • Experience teaching in Physics or related field.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to contribute to institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D in physics or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach lower-division foundational physics courses.
  • Teach select upper-division physics courses, based on departmental needs and qualifications.
