WVUHS System Medical Group is seeking a physician to join our community emergency medicine practice at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV. The hospital serves a multi-county area with a wide range of healthcare services, including a 24/7, 13-bed Emergency Department; Surgical Care Clinic; Orthopedic Clinic; Cancer Center; Primary Care Clinic; and the only Birthing Center in a five-county region. Petersburg is a progressive and picturesque community located in the Potomac Highlands, nestled in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia and known for its world-class trout fishing and hiking opportunities. The Department of Emergency Medicine through its academic and community practices serves over 550,000 patients across 23 locations across Appalachia. The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia’s largest health system and the state’s largest employer, with more than 2,400 licensed beds, 3,900 providers, and nearly 30,000 employees. Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Eligible to obtain an unrestricted state medical license in West Virginia.
  • Completed an accredited residency program.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible via a recognized board within the American Board of Medical Specialties.
  • Emergency Medicine Board Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Practice emergency medicine at Grant Memorial Hospital.
  • Serve patients in the 24/7, 13-bed Emergency Department.
