The EKG technician will regularly interact with nursing staff, members of the Adult Medical Emergency Team (AMET), physicians, and other EKG technicians to coordinate and perform cardiac testing, ensure timely communication of results, and support patient care across various clinical settings. This is a PRN role. A caregiver in this position works between 7:00am and 3:30pm or 3:00pm and 11:30pm. Other shifts will be based on facility needs. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform diagnostic electrocardiograms. Position and connect leads from electrocardiograph machines to electrodes on specified body areas. Review patients’ records and instruct patients prior to the procedure. Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormal findings. Identify and correct wandering, interference and artifacts. Edit and forward results to the attending physician for analysis and interpretation. Maintain EKG equipment and supplies.
