About The Position

Under the general guidance of physicians and providers, the EKG Technician performs EKG procedures. The position receives patients, explains the procedure, and helps ensure patient comfort. The description also includes providing services to patients of all ages using imaging modalities; operating ultrasound equipment for diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices; maintaining equipment and supplies and organizing the work area; keeping accurate records; assisting with ultrasound scheduling; and supporting smooth patient flow.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Perform EKG procedures under the general guidance of physicians and providers.
• Receive patients, explain procedures, and help ensure patient comfort.
• Provide patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Maintain equipment and supplies and organize the work area.
• Keep accurate records and assist with ultrasound scheduling to support smooth patient flow.
