About The Position

HCA Florida West Hospital is seeking an EKG Technician to perform EKGs and apply Holter monitors to record patient cardiac rhythm data for diagnostic purposes. The technician maintains the Pyramis archival system for digital studies, assigns studies to physicians for interpretation, and ensures results are distributed to patient charts and referring physician offices after interpretation or upon request. The role involves working collaboratively with a healthcare team and providing care for patients of every age group.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• EKG certification within one year.
• BLS-American Heart Association BLS Provider issued card.

Nice To Haves

• Vocational or technical education is preferred.
• Previous EKG or Stress Lab experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality diagnostic EKGs and Holter studies for patients of every age group.
• Troubleshoot study difficulties and possible deficiencies.
• Perform digital EKGs and computer uploads in a timely manner, and assign EKGs for physician interpretation.
• Educate patients about the study being completed.
• Distribute reports accurately and promptly to inpatient floors and physician offices.
• Maintain the Pyramis archival system for digital studies.
• Ensure study results are distributed to patient charts and referring physician offices after physician interpretation and upon request.
