About The Position

The Private Wealth Management internship provides real-world experience and meaningful work as a member of a team, with opportunities to contribute to team success and build professional relationships. Interns apply classroom knowledge and gain first-hand exposure to the work of Financial Advisors and their teams. The position is based in Baird’s Alexandria, Virginia office and requires full-time work during the summer, 37.5–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The candidate should be able to start in June 2027. The internship includes hands-on projects, mentorship, networking, professional development, and events such as an Intern Welcome and Baird Gives Back Day.

Requirements

Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Interest in financial services and developing a career in private wealth management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and associates.
Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver high-quality work on time.
High motivation, proactivity, strategic thinking, and commitment to learning and contributing effectively.
Availability to work full time during the summer, 37.5–40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in the Alexandria, Virginia office, with a June 2027 start.

Nice To Haves

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
Prior experience in an office setting.

Responsibilities

Support Financial Advisor projects, including reviewing reports and conducting research.
Prepare for client meetings and presentations.
Assist with financial planning and market research.
Handle administrative tasks, calls, and basic client questions.
Contribute to branch marketing initiatives.
Process paperwork and documents.
Provide other duties and project support as needed.
