About The Position

Visiting Angels Boise is hiring Private Duty Caregivers to provide compassionate in-home support to senior adults and others in need in Boise and surrounding communities. Caregivers provide companionship and assistance with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, shopping, and transportation. The position offers flexible shift options, with full-time, part-time, PRN, short, and 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available. An immediate start is available. Advanced training in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care is offered to support caregivers’ development.

Requirements

A passion for serving others and being a caregiver.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
Respectful and compassionate manner.
Good time management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong ethics.
Physical endurance.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including attending appointments and taking walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when they are able.
Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own.
Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
Report unusual incidents.
Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Provide transportation and one-on-one mobility assistance as needed.
