Private Duty Caregiver
About The Position
McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. Through its Venice office, the agency is seeking dependable Caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs for weekend opportunities in private homes. Schedules vary by client and caregiver availability, and may include short or split visits, standard shifts, extended shifts, and frequently available 12-hour day or overnight shifts. Consistent, ongoing assignments may also be available. The agency works to match caregivers with assignments aligned with their availability, skills, experience, and comfort level. Caregivers provide one-on-one care and receive 24/7 office and nursing support.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and a dependable, professional approach to caregiving.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Current TB test, or willingness to obtain one.
- Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete it.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and safe mobility.
- Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Assist with meal preparation, hydration, and medication reminders.
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry, errands, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Follow each client’s individualized care plan and complete required documentation.
- Observe and communicate changes or concerns to the office team.
