About The Position
ALOM is hiring a Print Buyer to support print procurement within its fulfillment and manufacturing operations. The role drives print procurement from supplier qualification and selection through product delivery, balancing supplier capabilities, location, quality, cost, and sustainability. The buyer manages quote requests and print orders hands-on, coordinates timelines, communicates with suppliers and internal teams, and reviews print specifications and proofs. The role works collaboratively with Quality, Account Management, suppliers, and artwork providers to deliver accurate, high-quality service.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with print purchasing practices, terminology, and processes.
- Strong supplier management, negotiation, and supplier compliance management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills when working with internal and external clients and suppliers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work within a cross-functional team under tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and self-motivational skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve a variety of issues simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
- Three to five years of print buying and general purchasing experience in the printing industry.

Responsibilities
- Drive the print procurement strategy and process from vendor qualification and selection through product delivery.
- Optimize supplier utilization based on capabilities, location, and quality.
- Project-manage quote requests, including issuing requests, checking quotes for accuracy, requesting additional information, and communicating with internal and external parties.
- Project-manage print orders by coordinating timelines, sending electronic print files to suppliers, and following up on artwork or supplier issues.
- Prepare or interpret detailed print specifications and evaluate proofs for accuracy and quality.
- Help customers improve quality, cost, and sustainability efforts in a consultative role.
- Collaborate with Quality, Account Management, suppliers, and artwork providers, managing relationships respectfully and using sound ethical judgment.
