About The Position

Introduction to the principal fields, the concepts, and the essential methods of sociological analysis. Sociology and the other social sciences. Critical thinking and techniques of intellectual work. The craft of the sociologist. This course is intended primarily for students who are not enrolled in a program in sociology.

Requirements

  • M.A. in sociology or a more advanced training in sociology.
  • Demonstrable track record of expertise in the field Principles of Sociology.
  • Previous teaching experience in the same or similar course or through publications in the field.
  • Competence in the language of instruction (English).

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Principles of Sociology (SOC1101 F00) during the 2027 Winter Semester.
  • Employ sociological analysis, concepts, and methods.
  • Foster critical thinking and intellectual work techniques.
  • Engage students in the craft of the sociologist.
  • Provide instruction primarily for students not enrolled in a sociology program.
