About The Position

Designs and delivers features for provisioning, onboarding, and platform services, owning small-to-medium components end-to-end. Performs cross-layer debugging spanning kernel and user space, firmware interfaces, and hardware signals to identify mitigations and root causes. Monitors and tunes performance, capacity, and error budgets for owned services or drivers, adding observability and guardrails. Enhances fleet-operations automation and improves CI/CD, validation, and conformance tests. Participates in schematic and board reviews to identify firmware and software implications and supports early bring-up with targeted diagnostics. The role develops and maintains system software for managing, monitoring, and provisioning servers, storage, networking, and GPU subsystems in a hyperscale environment. It independently designs and deploys software layers and tools to automate hardware provisioning and server onboarding, integrates and validates system firmware with hardware, and collaborates on platform bring-up, firmware updates, diagnostics, and cross-layer debugging. The engineer diagnoses issues across software, firmware, and hardware, working within DevOps and incident-response practices to maintain reliability and availability. The position works closely with platform engineering, operations, firmware developers, silicon and board vendors, and data center teams on hardware bring-up, provisioning, and lifecycle operations. The engineer designs software solutions, develops features and enhancements, documents designs and code, leads code reviews in designated areas, troubleshoots and fixes software issues, and implements testing, quality assurance, logging, monitoring, and observability. The role also includes performance profiling and optimization, API troubleshooting and integration, and API versioning and interoperability strategies. The engineer develops software aligned with established system architecture, collaborates with team leads on architectural alignment, and implements performance and scalability strategies. The position collaborates on customer issue resolution and product support, may independently provide technical guidance to customers, mentors others, and helps improve customer issue and defect-handling processes. It follows development and coding standards, applies secure coding practices, and performs maintenance and testing such as upgrades and patches. It independently manages work and priorities, partners across teams, troubleshoots issues using information from multiple sources, shares knowledge, pursues continuous learning, and recommends process improvements.
