Job Profile The Principal Strategy & Planning will lead asset-level integration of closure, cost, and planning information across North America Legacy Assets, translating site-level analysis into asset-level insights, governance outputs, and executive communications. This role ensures disciplined coordination of planning cadences and supports effective business performance through high-quality integration, alignment, and delivery. Work Location This position will be based BHP’s corporate location in Denver, CO. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP. About the Role To be successful in this role, you will: Consolidate site-level closure, cost, and planning inputs into clear, accurate asset-level views. Maintain alignment between detailed site inputs and asset-level narratives, assumptions, risks, and reporting outputs. Support corporate-facing BAU processes including provisions, SOX governance, closure governance, and risk reporting. Coordinate planning activities and ensure timely, consistent, and accurate information flow. Prepare high-quality executive communications including reports, presentations, and briefing materials. Integrate inputs from multiple stakeholders and reconcile differences in data, assumptions, and messaging. Apply strong project management discipline to coordinate priorities and deliverables across recurring business processes. Support Legacy Assets business, performance, improvement, and BOS cadences. Act as a key integrator and communicator across teams to support aligned execution. Salary Range $130,400 – $195,600 per year.The starting salary will be determined based on relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market considerations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mining, heavy industry, or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience in business planning, performance reporting, governance, or project coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate inputs from multiple stakeholders into clear, coherent outputs.
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, planning, and performance processes.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of executive-level materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
