Principal Product Manager

Microsoft•Redmond, WA

About The Position

Microsoft is seeking a Principal Product Manager to define and lead the strategy for the Agent & Plugin Store and its evolution into a registry-powered discovery, distribution, and growth platform. The role will shape a unified Agent and Plugin Store across Microsoft Copilot experiences, extend marketplace discovery beyond individual product surfaces, and create a web-facing marketplace for plugins and agentic solutions. The goal is to make agents, plugins, skills, connectors, and related capabilities easy to discover, understand, acquire, and use, while helping developers and partners reach Microsoft audiences at scale. The position owns the multi-year product vision, roadmap, customer model, marketplace experience, cross-surface distribution strategy, and growth and measurement frameworks. It requires partnering across product, engineering, design, data science, research, business development, operations, developer platform, and governance teams, while aligning senior stakeholders and representing the needs of users, administrators, developers, makers, ISVs, and Microsoft product teams. Microsoft describes its mission as empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more. Its stated values include a growth mindset, innovation, collaboration, respect, integrity, accountability, and inclusion.

  • 4+ years of experience taking a product, feature, or experience to market, including design, product-market fit, and launch, or an internal tool/framework.
  • 6+ years of experience improving product metrics for a product, feature, or experience in a market, such as growing a customer base, expanding usage, or avoiding churn.
  • 6+ years of experience disrupting a market for a product, feature, or experience, such as competitive disruption or replacing an established competing product.
  • Experience defining and delivering large-scale consumer, enterprise, marketplace, platform, ecosystem, or developer products.
  • Ability to create a product vision, translate it into a roadmap, and drive execution across multiple teams and organizational boundaries.
  • Product sense for discovery, marketplaces, search, recommendations, acquisition, engagement, and growth experiences.

  • Experience building platform capabilities for multiple first-party and third-party product experiences.
  • Experience with product-led growth, marketplace flywheels, experimentation, funnel optimization, and recommendation or relevance systems.
  • Understanding of enterprise discovery, entitlement, administration, trust, governance, and lifecycle considerations for extensibility ecosystems.
  • Experience leading products spanning native application experiences and public web destinations.

Responsibilities

  • Define the multi-year product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a unified Agent & Plugin Store across Microsoft Copilot experiences and standalone marketplace entry points.
  • Evolve the store into a registry-powered discovery and distribution platform for agents, plugins, skills, connectors, and related extensibility solutions.
  • Drive a coherent customer model for discovering, evaluating, acquiring, sharing, managing, and reusing agentic capabilities across supported Microsoft experiences.
  • Create a web-facing plugins marketplace that expands ecosystem reach, supports public discovery, and provides pathways into Microsoft Copilot experiences.
  • Shape end-to-end marketplace experiences, including information architecture, search, ranking, recommendations, categories, collections, product detail pages, acquisition, re-entry, and lifecycle management.
  • Define a unified plugin and agent marketplace model that packages underlying capabilities as coherent customer solutions rather than fragmented technical components.
  • Establish cross-surface distribution strategy so publishers can reach multiple Microsoft experiences and customers can discover and acquire solutions through consistent flows.
  • Own the growth strategy and experimentation roadmap across supply, discovery, acquisition, activation, sharing, engagement, retention, and repeat usage.
  • Define a marketplace measurement framework and use usage, quality, relevance, reliability, and customer feedback signals to improve search, recommendations, merchandising, and product investment decisions.
  • Partner with engineering, design, data science, research, business development, store operations, developer platform, governance, and Copilot product teams to deliver an integrated marketplace ecosystem.
  • Align senior stakeholders around durable product decisions, resolve cross-organizational dependencies and tradeoffs, and communicate strategy and progress clearly.
  • Represent end users, administrators, developers, makers, ISVs, and Microsoft product teams while maintaining a simple and coherent customer experience.
